Is our Generation going to be known for their Intellectual Prowness, Entrepenueral Spirit, Athletic Abilities and ground breaking accomplishments.....I hope so. In the world of Economics our generation has and is going though the toughest problems known in the Technological world (except the great Depression). The is just a bump in the road if your not in the financial world it really doesn't mean awhole lot to us...right now. So what do we do as Americans, we entertain ourselves while the bloated, greedy cash hogs get slammed. What the definition of entertianment-http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Entertainment. Yes as a the next Generation (X&Y) go about their daily lives entertainment has been a corner stone for us. To Forget or relax for a few moments as the Pigs on Wall Street and The White House gets slammed.
Lets talk Entertainment involving Generation X. We have broken every mold that forms our Entertainment world today!!!! That sounds like a bold statement but let me give you a few examples:
Major League Sports: Over the Past few years more records have been smashed in all sports than in any other decade!Make Money watching Football or Any Other Sports!
Entertainment/Movies: CGI has tranfomed extremely good novels into reality(Lord of the Rings, Spiderman, Batman Movies, Etc.
Watch movies on your Computer
Technology: MIT is developing a Solar Panel with 50% more effiency than previous models, Water and hydrogen powered vehciles, Super Computers (computer cleaners),The INTERNET!
Governement/Financials: We are on the verge of having the first Black person as President of the US!! People are realizing that politician are being corrupted all the way to the White House! On another note, people in the finance sector have warning government agencies for awhile now about the crash and they ignored it (if I had some extra money I would start investing now while stock are low) Click Here!
Green Wave: More and more people actively seeking alternative and environmentaly friendly products to use instead of chemically charged products. People are easting healthier now too.Reach your Health goals!
Generation X has every right to call our selves the intelligent Generation. After battling the govenerment in the 70's for equal right and peace movements to learning and developing the web. We need a leader to forge a new path and not let anyone stand is his way!

And soon to come possible huge recession provided by the Baby Boomers and Republicans! Our Generation has not gotten a BREAK! Don't get me wrong we did slack off a little in the early 90's but that's because of the recession. But the older Gen X Crown came into prominance at the end of the recession, during the Dot Com boom of the late 97 to early 2004.
After Sept. 11 the Baby Boomers drove this country into the ground with the speculator buying and driving the prices up on everything. Believe me I knoe I live in an area that caters to these people. I guess my point is we need to start looking out for #1. Even more so as a country we should stop giving hand outs to everyone before we go bankrupt!
On that note, why is the government allowing large corporation to give huge sums of maney to execs for driving a company and or economy into the ground?

Our political Envronment
For our Generation (x) this is the time we should be the most vocal. We can make history by becoming the most involved Generation know too man using what we know. Like I say to my stepson who has a problem with Math," Use what you know and break down the problem until you find the answer." So ask all the bloggers and Web geeks to ask yourself, What are we going to do about the current situation in our world, not in everyone elses?
Here's one thought, let fix our country before we fix everyone elses! Everyday I hear about our government sending money, food, supplies and technology to other counties but what about our country? Why don't we put more food on the tables of our people? Why don't we rebuild our country after a storm or weather event? Why do we let moeny rule our government the way it does our legal system? Why don't we have a say?
As Generation X get wiser and more knowledgeable we have to do something about our political stance and get our head out of the tabloids researching what Brittany Spears did this weekend. Stop Paying $9.50 for a movie!! If your making a lot of money save a little, have fun and buy the thing you want, but save a little.
Here is something else to ponder. What if Generation X is just beating the system as we are acustomed to it today? Before 2000 life was pretty easy. All you needed was one parent working to make the mortgage and be the bread winner. Now with the economy in the tanks I keep seeing more and more Older people back in the work force including stay at home moms or wives. I think this may be carma!? Carma because of the real estate mess, carma because the current political situation facing our "Every Generation" in the coming years! I see Generation X just waiting until the Baby boomers retire and we are going to take over! By then the Real estate market will be at a reasonable price level, Politics will have learned there ways and our common sense Generation will take office.
This maybe a pipe dream but it's my dream. Tell me yours.

What our generation has experienced!
Through out history one event, item or even person changed a Generation path forever. So I'm going to figure out the single most important item that change my life and or yours.
As you already know Generation X was formed between 1964-1984( the exact dates are really not known).
In 1964 we had peace, love, happyness, social change and huge events changing the American Mind. Forty years ago things where good, the economy was steady, and american had a future. The Beatle hit #1 on the billboard charts with the song" I want to hold your hand". Thus follow Beatle mania where the band was and arguably still is the best band ever assembled. The Beatles formed our generation in almost every facit as we know it! Most of the music we hear today have some Beatle influences. We also had some event slow our coutry down as well
John F Kennedy our president, was assassinated in Texas. Everyone knows Jack Ruby, the man who killed Lee Harvey Oswold, was found guilty and then he was killed. Vietnam war begins in 1964 as well putting our country in the middle of a never ending war......again.
The 1960's also introduce the Barbie Doll which was a huge hit and still is 48 years later. Malcom X was Dr. Martin Luther King where at the top of there demonstrating power. Malcolm X was assassinated1965 and the Black Panthers where born to follow in his foot steps. Dr Martin Luther Kill was assassinated in 1968.
As you can see this has made our Generation recentful of politics and Generations before us. Now we need to get back to basics and get people behind the change movement! Start cutting tied from Foreign oil, Create new jobs in America, Stop the interracial violences and above all stop fighting everyone elses fights!!

Generation X Influences
I was born in 1977 but I still consider myself apart of Generation X but have alot f Generation Y influences. Generation X is the sector of the population that is shaping this world. From 1964-1974 is considered Generation X. Gen-X received this verbage for the "Baby Bust" refer to the fewer amount of babies being born after 1964. By and large, the 18-to-29 group scornfully rejects the habits and values of the baby boomers, viewing that group as self-centered, fickle and impractical. While the baby boomers had a placid childhood in the 1950s, which helped inspire them to start a revolution, today's twenty-something generation grew up in a time of drugs, divorce and economic strain(1980's). . .They feel influenced and changed by the social problems they see as their inheritance: racial strife, homelessness, AIDS, fractured families and federal deficits.
Generation Y, like other generations, are shaped by the events, leaders, developments and trends of its time. The Internet becoming a mainstream communications network, 9/11 and the Iraq War can be considered definitive events for members of this generation. The rise of instant communication technologies made possible through use of the internet and internet superstores, such as E-mail, texting , and Instant messaging and new media used through websites like You Tube and social networking sites, may explain Millennials' reputation for being peer oriented and for seeking instant gratification. This trend of communication is continuing into Generation Z.
Even more so today, our generation is being influenced by technology, social in interaction, reality television, extreme sports, scandal, new religions(Scientology) and splurging on material goods. So why should we except what our previous generation created?
Why should we be the ones to blame for these problems? We are the smart buyers, we didn't rip off all the Mortgage execs., we didn't create Enron, we didn't cause Global Warming, we didn't create extremely large residential developments (2000+) killing the baby boomer neighborhoods. Generation X is just taking advantage of what the Baby Boomer Generation created. So if we didn't create the mess our country has created why should we fix it?
We should fix this country because we can!!!! We have the technology to fix these problems and more. We can start by driving down cost of goods by buying @ or near wholesale prices, investing in alternative energies, celebrating our skills with computers and sports, bring reality T.V. back to REALITY, start recycling everything and start taking responsibility for ourselves.
